Coronavirus and Policy Changes

April 10th Update - We have been notified by the Governor that they will be extending the closure until April 30th. 

The Governor of Iowa has ordered us to cease operation from 10pm March 22nd until April 1st. Both Skin Kitchen Tattoo & The Axiom will be closed until at least Thursday, April 2nd. 

If you have an upcoming appointment and haven't been contacted to reschedule, we will be rescheduling appointments as soon as we get back to work and your deposit will be transferred to the new appointment. Our hope is that we can get you in as quickly as possible. If you have not heard from us, please email us at shop@skinkitchen.com with "CLOSER" in the subject line or call us after April 2nd at 515-255-4430.

Understand that we will not be in the studio and able to set up future appointments or re-schedule appointments until the State of Iowa allows us to continue opteration. Even after re-opening we will continue to practice our limited contact policy below until futher notice.

Limited Contact Policy

To reduce our Clients' and Artists' exposure to the virus, we will be tattooing by appointment only. At this time you can not come into the studio and set up an appointment.  Also, until further notice consultations will be done by phone or over skype. 

To set up an appointment, go to https://skinkitchen.com/about/scheduling and fill out the form or call us at 515-255-4430. If you need a consultation, please let us know what times will work best for you in the first contact.

For those that already have appointments, as of today, March 19th, 2020, we will continue to honor your appointment under the following conditions. 

• Please do not arrive for your appointment more than 5 minutes before the scheduled start of the appointment.

• The door will be locked and you will need to call us when you arrive. We will meet you at the door.

• If possible please come alone. If you have to have someone with you, it will need to be limited to one person. That person must be at least 18 years of age. No one else will be allowed inside the studio building.

• If you feel that you may have the virus or are showing symptoms of the virus, please contact us to cancel or re-schedule your appointment. Your deposit will be placed on a will call list and applied to future tattoos and/or appointments.

If you are interested in getting pierced, you can set up an appointment through the Axiom Facebook page, by email at davo@axiompiercing.com, If you would like to walk-in, just call when you get to the door. The Piercing Policy will be:

• The door will be locked and you will need to call when you arrive. If DaVo isn't available, you may set up an appointment for the next available time.

• Only one person other than the client getting pierced will be allowed in the studio building. That person must be over 18 years of age.

• If the person getting pierced is a minor, the only other person that will be allowed in will be the minor's legal guardian.

• If you feel that you may have the virus or are showing symptoms of the virus, please do not come in for a piercing.
